By electronic recycling association July 28, 2023

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) took great pleasure in providing a charitable donation comprising a laptop and a projector to the Compost Council of Canada – Highfield Farm Project in Calgary, AB. This thoughtful contribution was made in response to their expressed need for technological resources to enhance the efficacy of their events and educational workshops.

The laptop shall serve multiple crucial functions, including facilitating the seamless sign-in process for volunteers, enabling dynamic presentations during teaching sessions, and serving as a means for signing waivers. Additionally, the projector, a valuable addition to their technological arsenal, will play a pivotal role in supporting impactful presentations. We are confident that these donated devices will contribute significantly to the success of their initiatives and endeavors.

Highfield Farm is a project of the Compost Council of Canada and the City of Calgary. Through land revitalization, regenerative food and community building, Highfield Farm is transitioning an underutilized brownfield site into an active urban community farm hub. Highfield Farm is located on a 15-acre piece of underutilized space in the industrial area of the City of Calgary. Although previously used as a site for the Blackfoot Farmers’ Market, it had since spent nearly a decade lying vacant. It is now seeing new life in a community of groups, businesses and individuals who contribute to the development of the gardens, park spaces, composting efforts, education and more.  To lean more about Compost Council of Canada – Highfield Farm Project, please visit their website.
