At the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), we’re dedicated to making a positive impact on communities through technology donation initiatives. Recently, we had the privilege donating tech to the Somali Community in Hamilton, Ontario, to contribute to their after-school program. We’re excited to share that our donation of 10 laptops and 2 projectors will play a pivotal role in supporting educational empowerment for youth and volunteers alike.
The laptops provided will be instrumental in enhancing the after-school program’s offerings, particularly in tutoring and educational support sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These devices will enable students to access educational resources, complete assignments, and explore new learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting.
Additionally, our donation will benefit the dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to facilitate the program. With access to these laptops, volunteers can streamline administrative tasks, enhance lesson planning, and provide personalized support to students, ultimately enriching the educational experience.
Furthermore, the laptops will be available for drop-in youth, offering them valuable resources for building resumes, conducting research, and accessing career-related supports. This access to technology will empower young individuals to pursue their academic and professional aspirations with confidence and determination.
If you want to make a difference to both people in need, and the environment, then it’s time to start electronic recycling with the ERA. And it’s not as difficult as it seems. We here at the Electronic Recycling Association have made it easy for everyone. If there is any electronic device – cell phone, tablets, laptop – that you want to donate, we will take it off your hands.
You can either drop it off at one of our depots located across Canada or we can organize a pick-up at a time that suits you. It’s that easy!
