The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to partner with the Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) for a free electronics recycling event in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.
The event will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the EJTC campus located at 1405 Broadway Street, Port Coquitlam, BC.
This community-focused initiative supports EJTC’s Green Campus efforts and gives students, staff, businesses, and members of the surrounding community an opportunity to safely and responsibly recycle unwanted electronics. EJTC originally expressed interest in the partnership as a way to engage its students, staff, and nearby businesses in sustainability.

The electronics collection area will be set up at the EJTC campus, with the collection planned around the site’s available parking and Solar Plaza area.
What Electronics Can You Bring?
Participants are encouraged to bring unwanted or unused electronics, including:
- Laptops
- Desktop computers and PC towers
- Monitors
- Cell phones and tablets
- Printers and scanners
- Keyboards and mice
- Cables and chargers
- Networking equipment
- Other eligible electronic and IT equipment
ERA accepts a wide range of electronics for reuse and responsible recycling.

Secure Electronics Recycling and Data Protection
Data security is an important part of responsible electronics recycling.
Electronics containing personal, business, or other sensitive information are handled through ERA’s secure data management process. Reusable equipment is securely wiped before it can be refurbished, while data-bearing media requiring physical destruction can be securely destroyed.
For this event, ERA will provide the standard electronics collection, recycling, secure data wiping, and applicable data destruction services as part of the event at no charge to EJTC or participants. Post-event documentation may include data wipe certificates, certificates of destruction, and serial number reporting.

Giving Electronics a Second Life
