APAR Initiative Ltd in Calgary Receives Brand New Printer!

By electronic recycling association December 15, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the donation of one printer to APAR Initiative in Calgary. They were excited to receive a new-in-box printer donated by a client who wanted it given to an organization in need.

APAR Initiative was founded in 2018 as a movement to inspire innovation and creativity in our next generation of leaders. Their Vision is to empower girls to develop their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) capabilities without any limits or bounds. They work towards achieving this vision through the following objectives:

  • enabling a platform for mentorship opportunities and community building
  • educating and advocating for girls to think and dream big
  • helping develop the foundation for great leadership and critical thinking skills

Currently, the APAR Initiative is still in need of 15 laptops but refurbished laptops are one of ERA’s most requested items for donations.  During the COVID-19 Pandemic the demand for electronics has increased by at least 30% since March 2020.  With higher demands and a lower surplus of laptop’s during this time we are having trouble fulfilling requests from organizations such as the APAR Initiative.

Get involved by dropping off your unwanted or unused electronics to the ERA so we can help more organizations like the APAR Initiative.

For more information about APAR Initiative please visit their website here.

The ERA works with organizations across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors’ homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive, and we are thrilled to announce that we are getting close to achieving this goal. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.  Schedule a pickup with ERA and contribute to our mission of providing refurbished computers to those in need.
