NOVA SCOTIA — September 2026 — The Better Business Bureau Serving the Atlantic Provinces (BBB) and the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) are partnering to host a FREE Secure Electronics Recycling & Data Destruction Event on October 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 334 Bluewater Road, Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Held in recognition of Circular Economy Month and Cyber Security Awareness Month, the event will give Halifax-area businesses and community members an opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of unwanted or decommissioned electronics while supporting communities in need.
ERA will accept a variety of electronics, including laptops, desktop computers, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices. Secure data handling is an important part of ERA’s process, helping participants protect sensitive information while ensuring unwanted technology is managed responsibly.
Whenever possible, reusable electronics collected during the event will be refurbished and given a second life through ERA’s donation programs. Refurbished devices will be donated to charities, nonprofits, schools, community organizations, and other groups in need of technology, helping bridge the digital divide while keeping usable electronics out of landfills.
“Electronics that are no longer needed by one person or business can make a meaningful difference for someone else,” said Bojan Paduh, Founder and President of the Electronic Recycling Association. “Through reuse and responsible recycling, we can protect data, reduce electronic waste, and provide much-needed technology to organizations serving their communities.”

The event is free to attend, and local residents and businesses are encouraged to participate by bringing their unwanted electronics.
