Edmonton and Vancouver organizations in need Receive Donated Tech

By electronic recycling association August 18, 2020

The ERA was delighted to donate to 2 different organizations in need today!  Dreamspeakers Festival Society in Edmonton received a laptop while BC Bottle & Recycling Depot Association received 1 desktop computer and 2 laptops.

The current office computers for Dreamspeakers Festival Society are over a decade old and inadequate in meeting their needs and current business practice. They cannot update to current software, are incompatible with cloud drives and diminish their productivity, staff moral, and organizational capacity. ERA was happy to support them with an updated laptop.

The Dreamspeakers Festival Society supports and educates the public about Aboriginal culture, art & heritage. It is a resource for Aboriginal filmmakers, for directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, technicians, actors, musicians, storytellers, artists and craftspeople. The Society is also a resource bank – a way to get in touch with Aboriginal filmmakers, performers and artists. And through Dreamspeakers, Aboriginal people receive training in arts, culture and festival operations.

The BC Bottle Depot Association (BCBDA) is a non-profit voluntary membership-based organization founded by depot operators that represent the interests of member bottle depots in British Columbia. The Association was incorporated under the Society Act of BC on January 6, 1997.

The Mission of the BC Bottle Depot Association is to advance the best interests of its members and promote sustainable recycling programs that support a healthy environment and benefit the public and communities.

We were happy to donate two laptops and one computer to the BC Bottle Depot Association in Delta. In the past, ERA donated tech to help with its programs and they reaped the benefits from this device. They require additional computers to assist with the students who train as office admins and tech admins at the organization.

The ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Consider disposing of your unwanted electronics with ERA. We will work to refurbish your devices so that we can donate them back into the community. Book a pickup today!
