ERA aids Calgarian Café with technology to help deliver meals to people who are vulnerable amid COVID-19 outbreak

On March 17th, Cathy Jacobs and her family business, Angel’s Café, joined the increasing number of businesses who closed their doors due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Upon closure of their café, they chose to cook up the rest of their supplies and provide it to those in need in their community. To date, they have now supplied over 6000 meals due to the wonderful support of the community.

The Angel’s Café reached out to ERA as they were in need of a laptop to keep their project alive. Their current computer was broken and they were in need of a device to keep connected with those in need. Obtaining this device means that they will be able to keep feeding thousands of individuals in need across Calgary.

Their most popular recipients have been seniors in isolation, those in quarantine, and families as well as individuals that have no access to resources due to organizations closing their doors that would have supplied volunteers that would normally be part of their world.

Speaking with Cathy Jacobs, Owner of Angel’s Café she expressed, ‘We feel blessed that we can continue with what we are doing to take care of our community.  I want to thank you for your donation. We together are making a difference at this unprecedented time in our history.”  All food donations can be dropped off outside the cafe at 4105 Montgomery View N.W.
