The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), in partnership with Mayor David West of the City of Richmond Hill, recently donated four refurbished laptops to Autism in Mind, helping expand access to technology for individuals participating in the organization’s programs.
Autism in Mind is a Richmond Hill-based non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals on the autism spectrum through programs that promote learning, independence, and personal development. Access to reliable technology plays an important role in these programs by enabling participants to build digital skills, engage in educational activities, and access valuable online resources.
The donated laptops will support Autism in Mind’s ongoing initiatives by providing staff and participants with dependable technology that enhances learning, communication, and program delivery. Access to updated computers helps create opportunities for individuals to develop essential digital skills that support greater independence and long-term success.
This donation is another example of ERA’s commitment to bridging the digital divide while reducing electronic waste across Canada. By securely refurbishing donated electronics and providing them to charities, schools, and non-profit organizations, ERA extends the life of technology while keeping usable devices out of landfills.
ERA would like to thank Mayor David West for partnering on this initiative and for supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the Richmond Hill community. Partnerships like this demonstrate how communities can work together to improve access to technology for those who need it most.
Businesses and organizations with surplus computers and IT equipment can help create similar opportunities by donating their unwanted electronics through ERA.
Every donation supports environmental sustainability while providing essential technology to charities and non-profit organizations across Canada.
