The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the donation of 10 laptops to the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society.  The donation will be used to provide electronic devices to Afghanistan refugees who recently arrived to Calgary and help support CCIS’s Canada Connects Program.

“Calgary was chosen to be a hub because we have one of the largest settlement agencies across the country and obviously there is capacity, it’s a medium-sized city,” said Bindu Narula, director of resettlement for CCIS.

The ERA understands that the becoming a refugee doesn’t just mean losing your home. It means being disconnected from every aspect of your life: your friends, your education, your social networks, and the technology that makes it all possible.

CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society) is a non-profit organization which provides settlement and integration services to all immigrants and refugees in Southern Alberta. Since our inception in 1981, we have been a community leader with solid experience in the design and delivery of comprehensive services for our newest neighbours. We deliver these services through a dynamic multi-cultural, multi-denominational and multi-disciplinary team of professionals, who collectively speak over 60 languages.  If you would like to learn more about the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society, please visit their website.

The ERA is calling out to all businesses and individuals to donate their unwanted computers and laptops to help them fill requests from charitable organizations and individuals in need. Donate today!

The ERA (Electronic Recycling Association), is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment.  As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, it is our “reuse” focus and donation activities that set us apart from others in this sector. We are an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 Certified Company that offers pickup services, comprehensive data security measures and subsequent reporting. Individuals and organizations alike move through technology hardware for a number of different reasons, and often there is ongoing productive use.

The ERA believes that “reuse” where ever possible is the most ecological approach to this growing stream, and an excellent way to compel real community goodwill at the same time. The Electronic Recycling Association has a clear mission of reducing electronic waste through computer recycling, laptop recycling and computer donation services. With depots throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and all of Canada. ERA provides a great way to recycle electronic equipment safely and securely.
