The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support organizations that make a meaningful difference in their communities. As part of our ongoing commitment to digital inclusion and technology accessibility, ERA recently donated two refurbished laptops to The Salvation Army Edmonton Centre of Hope.
This donation will help provide access to technology for staff and community programs. As a result, the Centre can continue supporting individuals and families who rely on its services.
About The Salvation Army Edmonton Centre of Hope
The Salvation Army Edmonton Centre of Hope offers a wide range of community services. These include emergency shelter, housing support, outreach programs, and other essential resources.
Every day, the organization helps people facing homelessness, poverty, and other challenges. Therefore, access to reliable technology is an important part of delivering these services effectively.
Closing the Digital Divide
Technology plays a key role in modern life. It helps people access information, communicate with others, search for employment, and connect with support services.
For this reason, ERA works with charities, schools, shelters, and non-profit organizations across Canada. Through our donation program, we help ensure that usable technology remains in circulation instead of becoming electronic waste.
Furthermore, every device that is reused helps reduce environmental impact while creating new opportunities for communities.
Giving Technology a Second Life
At ERA, we believe that technology should continue creating value long after its first use. By refurbishing donated electronics, we extend the life of devices and keep them out of landfills.
In addition, technology donations help organizations redirect resources toward their core programs and services. This allows them to focus on supporting the people who need assistance most.
The donation of two laptops to The Salvation Army Edmonton Centre of Hope is another example of how technology reuse can benefit both people and the environment.
Building Stronger Communities Together
ERA is grateful for the opportunity to support The Salvation Army Edmonton Centre of Hope. We appreciate the important work their team does every day throughout the Edmonton community.
Together, we can reduce e-waste, promote sustainability, and improve access to technology for Canadians in need.
