The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to recognize its partnership with St. Joseph’s Morrow Park Catholic Secondary School following a successful community e-waste fundraising event in North York, Ontario.
The collection campaign ran from May 22 to June 12, 2026, bringing together students, families, staff, and local residents to donate unwanted electronics for responsible recycling and technology reuse.
Through this community effort, approximately 150 lbs of electronic equipment were collected, helping divert e-waste from landfills and supporting a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Supporting Electronics Recycling in North York
School and community collection events make responsible electronics recycling more convenient and accessible. They also help raise awareness about the growing environmental impact of electronic waste.
During the event, participants were encouraged to contribute unwanted items such as:
- Computers and laptops
- Monitors and printers
- Cell phones and small electronics
- Keyboards, mice, chargers, and cables
- Other reusable or recyclable electronic equipment
ERA follows a reuse-first approach. Whenever possible, collected electronics are refurbished and prepared for continued use. Devices that cannot be reused are processed through environmentally responsible recycling channels.
This approach helps extend the life of technology, reduce unnecessary waste, and recover valuable electronic materials.
Creating Environmental and Community Impact
The North York e-waste fundraising event provided students and families with an opportunity to learn more about sustainability and responsible electronics management.
By participating, the St. Joseph’s Morrow Park CSS community helped:
- Reduce electronic waste entering landfills
- Promote responsible electronics recycling
- Encourage technology refurbishment and reuse
- Support environmental education
- Contribute to ERA’s community donation initiatives
Refurbished devices collected through ERA programs may be prepared for charities, schools, non-profit organizations, and individuals who need access to reliable technology.
ERA’s Moolah for Macros Program
The event was organized through ERA’s Moolah for Macros program, which helps schools, charities, and non-profit organizations host community electronics collection campaigns.
ERA can support participating organizations with collection equipment, promotional materials, electronics pickup, secure data processing, and event documentation.
These campaigns bring communities together while supporting both environmental responsibility and local initiatives.
Thank You to St. Joseph’s Morrow Park CSS
ERA sincerely thanks the school administration, staff, students, families, and community members who participated in the event.
