Hey Vancouver! Did you know you can drop off your unwanted electronics to our depots?
Our Vancouver location is open to the general public to drop off laptops, computers, monitors, printers, tablets, phones, and so much more. Located on Mitchell Island just east of the airport, we’re able to process our pickups from various companies in and around Vancouver and better serve the area. This warehouse even allows us to execute regular pickups from businesses located on Vancouver Island.
With security in mind, each item we collect is data wiped of all it’s sensitive and/or personal information and reset back to factory settings. ERA uses a service called Blancco. Blancco is the proven data erasure solution for millions of users around the world. As the pioneer and global leader in data sanitation and end-of-life cycle solutions, the company offers the most certified data erasure software within the industry. Furthermore (and for a small additional fee), ERA is able to physically shred your hard drive upon request using an AmeriShred hard drive shredder.
While we don’t charge for drop-offs of our accepted items, we do have a small fee for TV’s, microwaves, and floor model copiers. Our team is happy to assist you when you arrive at our depot.
Donating your unwanted devices to the ERA allows us to continue fulfilling the many donation requests we receive. Everything we do is done with the community in mind. Our mission is to reduce electronic waste and the negative impact it has on our environment and to reuse unwanted computers and related electronic equipment through recovery, refurbishment, and computer donation programs. By donating the electronics we collect and refurbish, the ERA is able to continue fostering a better community by enabling the non-profit sector and individuals in need. Imagine this: your old laptop that’s sitting in a storage closet can be wiped clean and given to a student to use for their school projects, a senior to stay connected with loved ones, or even a non-profit to help launch a new community program.
