ERA & WES Partners to Donate Tech to Oasis Dufferin Food Bank

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has recently collaborated with World Education Service to contribute a technology donation consisting of 5 laptops and a printer to the Oasis Dufferin Food Bank and Community in Toronto, Ontario. Due to the challenges posed by COVID-19, certain programs, such as the food bank and meal pick-up, have had to be relocated outside the building or shifted online through video conferencing. This necessitates greater mobility with our PCs, which are currently insufficient for the staff. The sharing of laptops is a common practice, particularly during summer hires, and our existing laptops are showing signs of aging. A sufficient supply of laptops would significantly enhance their ability to serve the community effectively and accomplish more tasks.

Recognizing the need for improved resources, ERA and World Education Service’s donation of 5 laptops and a printer comes at a crucial time. These technological assets will not only alleviate the strain caused by the scarcity of PCs but also offer a significant upgrade in capabilities. Having a sufficient supply of laptops will empower the staff to function more efficiently, enabling them to better serve the community and accomplish a broader range of tasks.
