BC Caregivers Receive Technology to Help those in Need

Family Caregivers of BC is a registered non-profit dedicated 100% to supporting family caregivers. Most of us have cared for aging, ailing or disabled loved ones and have experienced firsthand the stress, joy, confusion, and feelings of purpose that come with caregiving.

Their Mission is to improve the quality of life for family caregivers through support, information, and education. They provide leadership to strengthen the voice of family caregivers and the significance of their role.

This laptop will go to one of their consultants in BC so that they can gain access to their documents and the internet while on the road. While speaking with Janet McLean, Education and Engagement Lead at Family Caregivers of British Columbia she explained, “We have consultants who work with us remotely throughout the Province and this is a growing part of our program.  This laptop will go to one of these consultants who is working in communities in Northern BC to build capacity for supporting family caregivers.  It will be a huge help.”

  • Educate family caregivers and healthcare providers through free webinars, workshops and support group facilitator training.
  • Engage with family caregivers and the health sector to gain recognition for family caregivers and their roles as partners in care, as well as ensure family caregivers are included in health care system improvement efforts.
