FamilySmart is not just about families. Whether you are a youth, young adult, family member or service provider, you matter to FamilySmart. Their experiences with each other impact mental health outcomes of young people.

They are Together-Centred and it means that your experience, expertise, and contributions are acknowledged, respected and valued. You are all seen, and treated, as assets.

FamilySmart comes along-side young people and families to provide support, navigation assistance and information and then invites them and professionals to come-alongside each other to learn with and from each other to enhance the quality of experiences and services for child and youth mental health.

Vision

Children, youth, young adults and families in Canada have positive experiences and connections that enhance their mental health.

Mission

Enhance the quality of experiences and services that impact the mental health of children, youth, young adults and their families or caring adults, through a Together-Centred approach that honours lived experience and recognizes our shared humanity.

Core Strategy

FamilySmart programs are recognized and sought after as an evidence-informed standard of excellence for any individual, program or organization working to achieve better mental health outcomes for children, youth and young adults regardless of setting, sector or service system.

FamilySmart has a team of staff who are called Parents in Residence. They all have lived experience of caring for a child with mental health challenges. They come alongside parents, youth and mental health professionals to offer guidance, practical advice and peer support so that families can get the help they need for their children. They believe in early intervention by helping families before they are in crisis.

ERA is pleased to donate two laptops to this organization. Their team will use these laptops so that they can share resources with parents, share presentations and record their progress over time remotely if needed. Speaking with Andi Simpson, Employee at FamilySmart he expressed, “Thank you for the donation. This will make a huge difference to FamilySmart, enabling us to spend more on children and families.”
