Learn from the fraud experts to prevent yourself from becoming a victim!

Are you curious as to how to prevent yourself or your business from being swindled by a fraudster? Come and learn from the (legal) fraud experts to help prevent yourself from possibly becoming a victim. Various presenters and information booths will be at the Fraud Awareness Day, Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at The Pipe Shop.

The North Vancouver RCMP Detachment is hosting this free event from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm down at The Pipe Shop, a spacious, restored, heritage building located at 115 Victory Way, just to the east of Lower Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver.

Businesses and members of the general public are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about safe banking practices, investment fraud, fraud schemes, phone scams, etc. from:

Chris Kennedy, Officer in Charge of the North Vancouver RCMP. “This is an excellent opportunity to learn from the industry experts – all located in one place for your convenience!”

  • 11:30 am – Seniors First – Who they are & how they can help you – Lin Chen
  •  12:15 pm – Navigating Social Media – Protecting personal information – Cpl. Gord Hay , RCMP
  • 1:00 pm – Top Ten Scams of 2017 – Evan Kelly of the Better Business Bureau

The Electronic Recycling Association will be on site to safely and permanently destroy any old electronics, such as computer hard drives and mobile phones that you may bring down.
