La Maison Bleue in Montreal Receives 5 Free Computers

By electronic recycling association June 23, 2021

In this time of the pandemic, many families who frequent La Maison Bleue do not have a computer for children to do homework. The Electronic Recycling Association was proud to provide 5 desktop computers for their young people (primary and secondary) who attend La Maison Bleue.

La Maison Bleue is born from the desire to do things differently to promote the optimal development of children by intervening with pregnant women. Since 2007, it is a whole “village” of mutual help that has been built around families living in the situations of vulnerability. La Maison Bleue has followed more than 5800 people (mothers, babies, siblings, spouses) and has now four houses in Montreal : in Côte-des-Neiges, Parc-Extension, Saint-Michel and Verdun.

The mission of La Maison Bleue is to reduce social inequalities by helping pregnant women living in a situation of vulnerability. They promote and foster the optimal development of children, from their mother’s womb until the age of 5.

La Maison Bleue helps families awaiting a child and that are in need of support due to living in a context of vulnerability: poverty, a situation of abuse, violence, neglect, addiction, precarious immigration status, mental health problems, teen pregnancy etc.

Recycling With a Difference

The ERA (Electronic Recycling Association), is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment.  As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, it is our “reuse” focus and donation activities that set us apart from others in this sector. We are an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 Certified Company that offers pickup services, comprehensive data security measures and subsequent reporting. Individuals and organizations alike move through technology hardware for a number of different reasons, and often there is ongoing productive use.  The ERA believes that “reuse” where ever possible is the most ecological approach to this growing stream, and an excellent way to compel real community goodwill at the same time. The Electronic Recycling Association has a clear mission of reducing electronic waste through computer recycling, laptop recycling and computer donation services. With depots throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and all of Canada. ERA provides a great way to recycle electronic equipment safely and securely.
