Society of St Vincent de Paul Calgary is Gifted with 3 Laptops

By electronic recycling association June 2, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association was happy to donate 3 laptops to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP). We love to partner with other organizations that also serve those in need. The computers will provide communication media to families and individuals in distress. Many of the families are new Canadians. They are used by them for studies, for accommodation and job searches and for communicating.

Those who have received the equipment from ERA in the past have remarked on how windows of opportunity are opened by having the equipment. Imperial Oil has been an instrumental partner of ERA in helping to fill some of the multitudes of requests we receive on a daily basis. SSVP was one of the grateful recipients of Imperial Oil’s contribution.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a unique Catholic Ministry that serves people of all faiths who are in need. The Conference has been active in St. Patrick’s Parish since March 13, 1989. They serve within their community and also assist other Parish communities. Their mission in the Society is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.

They also assist financially when needed. It is through the generosity of their parishioners that they are able to serve the poor. Visit their website here to find out how you can donate.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware.
