7 laptops Help Outreach Workers for Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society

By electronic recycling association June 3, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was delighted to provide 7 laptops to the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society. They will be used by the outreach workers to support children, youth, adults, and families living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder by providing caregiver, pregnancy, and addictions support.

The ERA is fortunate to be partnered with organizations like Imperial Oil who use our services to dispose of their obsolete devices.  This enables us with the capability to donate to deserving charities and non-profit organizations that don’t have the budgets for upgrading their equipment. If you are looking for a reliable and secure ITAD service that provides certification and detailed inventory reporting, book your pickup here. Once we have accessed your items, you can choose the organization you would like to see your devices give new life to! Visit our Charities in Need page here.

Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society’s mission is to enhance capacity for the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and for the provision of care and support to rural communities surrounding Calgary. They do this by offering outreach programs, prevention, and awareness programs and have provided these services for over 20 years.

Staff is trained in grief and loss, trauma informed practice, and FASD.  Each staff member also has a specialty area including pregnancy, addiction, and substance use, caring for the caregiver, prevention, and awareness of FASD, and supporting adults with FASD and disabilities.  The staff is able to meet with people in their own communities and can provide in-home visits as needed.

In addition to helping individuals and caregivers, the FASD team is also able to assist professionals in specific fields such as; justice, children’s services, mental health, education, addictions, disability services, recreation, to include evidence-based practices when working with a person who has FASD through training opportunities, resources, and consultation.

Visit their website here for more information.

Thank you to Alaine from the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society for filming the staff receiving the laptops! Check out these excited reactions below 🙂
