The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was excited to be part of Enactus-St.Lawrence College (Enactus SLC) & Foot Print SLC annual Kingston (Ontario) Community E-Waste Drive.
Even though it rained, hundreds of vehicles came through to donate unwanted electronic devices such as hard drives, computers, laptops, phones, tablets, tapes and other small devices storing sensitive data. After the event ERA technicians ensured that data from the devices is securely removed, operational equipment is refurbished for reuse, and the rest is recycled in a responsible manner.
Recycling electronic waste has become an increasingly important environmental issue as the useful life of electronic devices becomes shorter and shorter and the list of electronic gadgets we use becomes longer and longer.
