Providing The Stepfamily Foundation of Alberta with much-needed Technology
The Stepfamily Foundation of Alberta received a donation of Six laptops. These laptops will be used to provide an interactive online program for the stepfamilies they serve. They are a not-for-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta that focuses exclusively upon the needs and concerns of stepfamilies.
Their mission is to prevent stepfamily breakdown by providing a variety of services to assist stepfamilies address and resolve the difficulties that are characteristic of the stepfamily experience.
Their approach is traditional family therapy, which is often non-directive and “feeling” oriented, does not take into account the specific dynamics and behaviours that characterize stepfamilies. Their approach is directive, research-based, and solution oriented.
They regard their clients as normal individuals in a new and complex life situation, who can and will achieve harmonious relationships and family stability when they understand the nature of the difficulties they are confronting and take appropriate actions to resolve them.
