By electronic recycling association January 27, 2023

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support CanU Canada with 5 laptops.  This donation will be used by the organization to run their digital literacy programs, robotics programs, and coding programs.  It will also provide laptops to several families on a temporary basis so that their children can participate in CanU’s virtual programming.

CanU is a Winnipeg-based charitable organization that inspires hope and confidence in the leaders of tomorrow through its out-of-school mentorship and educational enrichment program for youth in Grades 5-12. Throughout the year, CanU Kids participate in a wide range of educational experiences on post-secondary campuses and develop their nutrition, health, academic, social, and leadership skills. CanU programs are designed and led by post-secondary student volunteers who are honing their leadership and community service skills.

Founded in 2010, CanU is a partner-based out-of-school program on the University of Manitoba campuses. They have over 800 Gr. 5-12 CanU kids, over 1000 post-secondary student and partner volunteers, more than 20 corporate and community funding partners, more than 30 post-secondary departments and faculties, over 60 Winnipeg schools, over 70 programs, and four full-time employees. As an organization built upon mutually beneficial partnerships with a rich variety of complementary stakeholders, they are united by the dream that when a child experiences hope and confidence, the possibilities for that child are limitless.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization that has been reducing unnecessary electronic waste since 2004. We reduce adverse environmental contribution through electronic recycling, repurposing and through the donation of electronics and other IT Equipment. With a number of drop off locations around Canada based primarily out of Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg, and an electronic pickup service, the ERA provides a meaningful way for organizations and individuals to deal with their old computer equipment in a safe and secure manner that matches or exceeds government standards.

We work with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. You can get involved by simply disposing of your unwanted electronic with the ERA. Make a drop off at one of our 7 depots Canada wide or contact us to see if you qualify for a free pickup!
