ERA Donates Laptop to The Immigrant Education Society
As part of its ongoing mission to promote education and community empowerment, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to donate a refurbished laptop to The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) -a Calgary-based nonprofit committed to supporting newcomers through education, job training, and language programs.
Breaking Barriers with Digital Tools
TIES plays a critical role in helping immigrants and refugees integrate into Canadian society. By offering settlement, employment, and language services, the organization enables newcomers to build meaningful, self-sufficient lives in their new communities.
For many newcomers, access to technology is a significant challenge. Limited access to digital tools can hinder job searching, participation in online education, access to essential government and healthcare services, and staying connected to loved ones.
ERA’s laptop donation is more than a piece of equipment – it’s a bridge to opportunity. The device will be provided directly to a TIES program participant who is actively working to rebuild their future in Canada. This laptop will support career development, digital literacy, and virtual communication – essential tools for long-term success.
Supporting Sustainability and Social Impact
This initiative reflects ERA’s dual commitment: reducing electronic waste and promoting digital inclusion. By refurbishing and redistributing devices, ERA diverts electronics from landfills and places them into the hands of individuals and communities that need them most.
Help Us Help More
With over 500 charitable organizations currently on ERA’s national waitlist, the demand for laptops, desktops, tablets, and phones continues to grow. Your donation could directly benefit programs like those offered by TIES and make a lasting impact.
