The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to be working with the East Village Neighbourhood Association in Calgary for their annual PURGE ‘N SPLURGE

Bring those old electronics collecting dust in your drawers and cupboards and your old device could be repurposed and given to a charity or individual in need! 

You can also: 

Shop for previously-loved items being sold by your #EVneighbours;

Donate furniture or clothing items to the Calgary Drop-In Centre;

Recycle old electronics with the Electronic Recycling Association

Shred personal documents safely and securely with Pulp Shred; and

Get yourself a treat at the Food Trucks!

Date: Saturday, September 17, 2022 

Time: 11:00 am-4:00pm

Location: Riverwalk Plaza (East Village, Calgary, AB – next to Simmons Building)

Items the Electronic Recycling Association will accept:

  • Accepted items include:
  • Desktop & laptop computers
  • Tablets
  • Cell Phones/ Smart Phones/ Home Phones
  • Printers
  • Servers
  • Handheld Electronics (Mp3 Players, Gaming Consoles etc)
  • Gaming consoles
  • Stereo Equipment
  • Cameras
  • USB Keys & Other Storage Devices
  • External Hard Drives
  • Cords, cables
  • Peripherals (mice, keyboards, CDs, DVDs, etc)

**NO microwaves or old tube TVs – NO home or personal appliances**

Items the Drop-In Centre will accept:

Furniture – beds, dressers, kitchen tables and chairs, couches, desks, shelving units, TV’s and more. 

Household Goods – kitchenware, cookware, microwaves, small appliances, can openers, vacuums, bedding, linen, towels, and other items that make a house a home. 

Clothing – lightly used clothing – from business to casual, outerwear, footwear, and other essentials. 

Pulp Shred will accept personal documents only.

No business or commercial documents accepted. Restricted to 3 boxes/bags worth of documents per household.  Please refer to the materials acceptance policy for further details.

If you need help organizing a collection event contact the ERA. We will provide necessary resources (staff to assist with collection if necessary and confirmed in advance, collection bins, removal of equipment) as well as assist in handling the creation of marketing materials for your event (posters/flyers for you to distribute). All you’ll need to do is share event details with all of your contacts to ensure your collection is well attended.
