The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has recently made a donation of four laptops to JustWork, a charitable organization located in East Vancouver. These laptops will play a crucial role in equipping the staff and volunteers of JustWork with reliable IT equipment, facilitating their important work in the community.

JustWork was established in 2004 as a response to the increasing struggles faced by individuals in the Grandview-Woodlands neighborhood of East Vancouver in finding and sustaining employment. Initially, JustWork primarily provided vocational counseling, aiming to assist those who were experiencing difficulties securing stable jobs in the conventional workforce.

Recognizing the ongoing challenges, JustWork took a significant step by officially incorporating as a charity in 2006, shifting its focus towards the creation of social enterprises designed to fulfill its mission of offering meaningful and dignified work opportunities to those encountering obstacles in their job search. JustWork fulfills this mission through the operation of two key social enterprises: JustPotters and JustCatering. Additionally, JustWork collaborates with like-minded organizations as part of a comprehensive approach to community care, creating avenues for employees to contribute to their workplaces significantly and experience the fulfillment of meaningful work.

At its core, JustWork is dedicated to promoting dignified work, empowering individuals who face barriers to employment by allowing them to provide high-quality goods and services to their community. The laptops donated by ERA will contribute to the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission and continue fostering positive change within the East Vancouver community.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is an organization that stands at the forefront of addressing the digital divide in Canada. Our mission is clear: to work with charities across the country and provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This includes laptops, computers, and other essential technology that can be a game-changer for individuals and families facing financial hardship.

Get involved with the Electronic Recycling Association and help work towards a future without e-waste. Invite the ERA to your community cleanup, host an e-waste fundraiser, spend some time volunteering at the ERA, or initiate an e-waste collection at your business.

Consider dropping off your pre-loved electronics to ERA and we will work to donate them to those who need them most!
