Empowering Indigenous Youth
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has donated six desktop computers to Finding Our Power Together (FOPT) in Toronto, Ontario. FOPT is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous youth through a variety of community-centered programs. Their mission is to create culturally relevant spaces that foster healing, empowerment, and skill development for Indigenous youth, especially those facing unique challenges such as living with disabilities or navigating difficult social environments.
This donation will significantly enhance FOPT’s in-person programming, which includes after-school tutoring for Indigenous youth, an arts-based therapy program, and support for Indigenous youth living with disabilities. The new computers will enable the organization to provide critical resources that help youth learn digital skills and develop entrepreneurial mindsets. These digital tools are essential for building independence and improving employability in an increasingly tech-driven world.
In addition to supporting educational and artistic initiatives, the computers will play a crucial role in FOPT’s disability support program. With better access to technology, the organization will be able to offer tailored assistance to Indigenous youth with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and reach their full potential.
Through this donation, ERA is proud to contribute to FOPT’s mission of empowering Indigenous youth and ensuring that they have access to the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital age. To learn more about Finding Our Power Together (FOPT) please visit their website.
The Electronic Recycling Association’s mission to support non-profits with affordable technology is driven by the belief that technology should be an enabler, not a barrier. We invite other organizations and individuals to join us in this cause. Through donations and support, we can collectively make a significant impact, ensuring that more non-profits have the tools they need to succeed.
