ERA Donates Laptop to Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was delighted to extend a laptop donation to a valued client of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Currently, a dedicated social worker from CAMH is providing support to a courageous Ukrainian mother who sought refuge in Toronto in May 2022, escaping the relentless war in Ukraine. Accompanied by her three young children, who have recently started their education here and are diligently learning English, she is earnestly striving to acquire language proficiency as swiftly as possible to secure future employment opportunities. With the aim of aiding the family’s journey toward stability and integration into their new life, a home computer is of utmost importance for conducting job searches, completing school assignments, and facilitating their settlement process. ERA was genuinely gratified to lend a helping hand in this endeavor.

CAMH provides a wide range of clinical care services for patients of all ages and families, with Access CAMH as the centralized point of contact. As Canada’s largest mental health hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field, CAMH is prepared to go further than ever to support those facing mental illness. Many people don’t see mental illness in the same way, or even the same category, as other diseases medical science is working hard to find cures for, but Mental Health is Health. And with every new discovery, CAMH moves closer to treatments that will change the course of mental health forever. Visit their website HERE to learn more.

Gone are the days when having regular access to a personal computer was considered an unnecessary luxury. In today’s world, even basic activities necessitate the use of a computer. From job applications to school assignments, staying connected with family, or simply finding a bus route, these tasks have become arduous without the aid of a computer. Recognizing this pressing need, the Electronic Recycling Association has developed a charitable computer donation program to tackle this very issue. At ERA, we firmly believe in our responsibility to minimize our environmental impact while fostering goodwill within our communities. By choosing to recycle your electronics, you are actively making a positive difference in your neighborhood and contributing to a better world at large.
