By electronic recycling association December 18, 2023

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated laptops to Cherish Integrated Services in Toronto, reinforcing the commitment to community well-being. The donation of 7 laptops is set to make a significant impact on the organization and the individuals it serves.

Cherish Integrated Services, a vital resource for individuals with developmental disabilities, is experiencing an upsurge in demand for virtual programs. The laptops provided by the Electronic Recycling Association will play a pivotal role in meeting this increased need, facilitating essential services such as Zoom group programs, online video tutorials, and interactive online games.

Two of the laptops will be integral to the daily operations of Cherish Integrated Services, serving the dedicated staff as they orchestrate Zoom programs and attend to various computer-related tasks. The remaining laptops, designated for children and clients, will enhance the overall experience during training programs, providing access to technology that may have otherwise been out of reach.

The positive impact of this donation extends beyond the tangible devices. By embracing technology, Cherish Integrated Services can broaden its reach, ensuring that individuals with developmental disabilities have access to meaningful and engaging virtual programs. This not only fosters a sense of community but also empowers these individuals to participate in activities that contribute to their personal and social development.

The Electronic Recycling Association’s commitment to sustainability is also noteworthy. By repurposing and donating laptops, they contribute to a circular economy, reducing electronic waste and extending the life of valuable resources. This aligns with the broader goal of creating a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.

Cherish Integrated Services expresses gratitude for the Electronic Recycling Association’s support, emphasizing the importance of community partnerships in addressing the evolving needs of their clients. This donation exemplifies how corporate social responsibility can positively impact the lives of those in our communities.

The ERA is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment.  As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, it is our “reuse” focus and donation activities that set us apart from others in this sector.
