ERA Supports Parable Gifts with Essential Laptops

By electronic recycling association May 10, 2023

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated two laptops to Parable Gifts (PG), a Canadian non-profit organization serving the Durham Region in Ontario. This contribution from ERA will assist PG in their day-to-day office activities, supporting their programs aimed at alleviating hunger and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in need.

Parable Gifts: Addressing Food Insecurity and Fostering Human Dignity Parable Gifts (PG) was formed by the Swaby family during the pandemic to support vulnerable communities facing rising inflation and financial burdens. PG’s mission is to combat food insecurity by providing essential supplies, support, and opportunities for self-sufficiency. They offer services such as a “pop-up” soup kitchen and emergency food boxes to individuals and families with limited resources, particularly from Black and visible minority communities.

The recent donation of laptops by the Electronic Recycling Association to Parable Gifts exemplifies ERA’s commitment to supporting non-profit organizations in need of IT equipment. By alleviating the financial burden associated with acquiring technology, ERA enables organizations like Parable Gifts to allocate their resources effectively towards their programs. Together, we can bridge the digital divide and empower non-profits to make a difference in the communities they serve.

How You Can Help

Although ERA’s donation is greatly appreciated, Parable Gifts still has additional needs. If you have any unwanted laptops in working condition, please consider contacting ERA to arrange a pickup. Your contribution will empower Parable Gifts to expand their reach and positively impact the community.
