Make an Impact: Volunteer with ERA in Halifax

By electronic recycling association April 14, 2025

Are you passionate about the environment, interested in technology, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back? The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is actively seeking volunteers at our Halifax location to help support our mission to reduce electronic waste and provide refurbished technology to those in need.

Whether you’re a student seeking volunteer hours, someone looking to gain hands-on experience with electronics, or an eco-conscious community member, this is your opportunity to make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a volunteer, you’ll take part in activities like sorting electronic accessories, testing and cleaning monitors, organizing cables and RAM, and disassembling devices for reusable parts. You’ll also assist with warehouse organization and help prepare electronics for donation or recycling – all while learning new skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

What You’ll Gain
Volunteering with ERA not only helps the planet – it helps you, too! You’ll develop practical knowledge about computers and tech equipment, contribute to a cause that keeps electronics out of landfills, and work alongside a team that values sustainability and social responsibility.

After completing 24 volunteer hours, you’ll receive a refurbished laptop or desktop computer as a thank-you, along with a certificate of appreciation recognizing your valuable contribution.

Put on your steel-toed boots – and let’s make a difference together in Halifax!
