Shell Canada & ERA Donates To The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

By electronic recycling association January 5, 2023

Shell Canada is a long-standing client of The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and a huge contributor to our donations program. Without organizations like these who make a concerted effort to be involved in their community, ERA would not be able to help as many organizations every year as we do. We were proud to partner on the donation of 3 laptops to the Society of St Vincent de Paul in Calgary, AB.  The laptops will be provided to newcomers to Canada who will be using them for online courses, job searches and communicating with family members.

Shell Canada is an integrated energy company that aims to meet the world’s growing demand for energy in ways that are economically, environmentally and socially responsible. As a global energy company operating in a challenging world, they set high standards of performance and ethical behaviours. They are judged by how they act – their reputation is upheld by how they live up to our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a lay Catholic not-for-profit charity that helps economically-vulnerable people in Calgary with emergency food hampers and assistance meeting basic needs. They serve within their community and also assist other Parish communities. Their mission in the Society is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy. Visit their website here to find out how you can donate.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over eighteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware.
