ERA and SCAN Ottawa Make Electronics Recycling Easier for Local Seniors

By electronic recycling association October 23, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to celebrate a successful electronics recycling event with SCAN Ottawa (Seniors for Climate Action Now)!

On October 17, 2026, residents of 85 and 99 Range Road in Ottawa came together for a great cause. Thanks to their support, the event collected an impressive 187 lbs of electronic waste!

This wonderful result shows how small community events can make a big difference.

187 lbs of Electronics Collected in Ottawa

Every device counts when it comes to protecting our environment.

During the event, residents dropped off their unwanted electronics for responsible recycling. As a result, 187 lbs of electronic waste entered ERA’s reuse and recycling process instead of the regular waste stream.

More importantly, the event made recycling easier for local seniors.

Many older residents find it difficult to transport electronics to recycling facilities. However, this collection brought the service directly to their community.

Because of this, residents could recycle their devices without making a separate trip.

More Community Recycling Events Ahead

Following this successful event, SCAN Ottawa shared an idea for another collection with the Sandy Hill Community Association.

We would love to explore this opportunity and reach even more Ottawa residents.

At ERA, our goal is to reduce electronic waste and give reusable technology a second life. That’s why community partnerships are such an important part of our work.

By working together, we can make responsible electronics recycling easier for everyone.

Thank You, SCAN Ottawa!

A big thank you to SCAN Ottawa, Letitia, the Range Road residents, and our ERA volunteers!

Your time, support, and enthusiasm helped make this event a success.

Together, we collected 187 lbs of electronics and made a positive difference in the community!
