Looking to gain hands-on experience with computers and give back to your community? The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is currently looking for passionate volunteers in Calgary to join our tech-driven mission!
Volunteering with ERA is not only a great way to fulfill community service hours, but also a chance to learn about computer hardware and electronics recycling from the ground up. Even better – once you complete your volunteer hours, you’ll receive a refurbished laptop or desktop computer to take home with you!
What You’ll Do as a Volunteer Computer Technician:
No prior tech experience? No problem! We’ll guide you through every step. All you need is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and steel-toed boots for safety.
Volunteer duties may include:
- Sorting cables (power cords, VGA, DVI, adapters, etc.)
- Testing monitors
- Removing decals from donated devices
- Assisting with equipment unloading
- Sorting laptop bags and RAM
- Dismantling non-working computers for reusable parts
- Organizing and cleaning workstations
- General equipment cleaning
Volunteer Perks:
- Earn a refurbished laptop or desktop after completing 24 volunteer hours

- Build tech skills and gain warehouse experience
