The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is expanding our secure data destruction capabilities with a new 2mm dual-stage hammer mill designed for the physical destruction of solid-state drives (SSDs) and other flash-based media.
The equipment has been ordered, and as we prepare for its arrival, ERA is conducting market research to better understand the demand for this specialized data destruction service.
Secure Physical Destruction
As organizations replace and upgrade technology, securely managing data-bearing devices is an important part of the IT asset disposition process.
The new equipment is designed to physically destroy compatible media and reduce it down to approximately 2mm, including:
- Solid State Drives (SSDs)
- USB and thumb drives
- Memory cards
- Circuit boards
- Other compatible flash-based media
The dual-stage system uses a pre-shredder followed by a hammer mill to provide physical destruction of these devices.
