By electronic recycling association April 24, 2026

On May 9, 2026, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly partnered with the Mount Royal Community Association to support a successful community electronics recycling event in Saskatoon.

Held at St. Maria Goretti Community School, the Mount Royal Community Cleanup Day brought residents together to responsibly recycle unwanted electronics while supporting sustainability and digital inclusion initiatives.

Saskatoon Community Supports Responsible Electronics Recycling

Throughout the event, community members dropped off a variety of unwanted electronics, including:

  • Laptops
  • Desktop computers
  • Monitors
  • Accessories
  • Small electronics

All collected items became part of ERA’s national electronics recycling program, where reuse is always prioritized before recycling.

With more than 500 charities, schools, and non-profits across Canada currently waiting for access to technology, every device collected has the potential to create meaningful impact.

Supporting Digital Inclusion in Saskatoon

Access to technology remains a major challenge for many individuals, families, and organizations. Through electronics recycling events in Saskatoon like this one, ERA helps bridge that gap by transforming donated equipment into valuable community resources.

Collected devices will go through:

  • Secure data wiping
  • Professional testing
  • Refurbishment
  • Redistribution to organizations in need

Functional equipment may be donated to:

  • Schools supporting students
  • Non-profits serving vulnerable populations
  • Employment and training programs
  • Community organizations needing technology access

By participating in this Saskatoon electronics recycling initiative, local residents actively helped reduce digital inequality and support long-term social impact.

Reducing E-Waste in Saskatoon

Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams globally. Without responsible electronics recycling, harmful materials can end up in landfills and damage the environment.

ERA’s reuse-first approach ensures that devices with life remaining are refurbished and given a second chance. Items that cannot be reused are processed through certified recycling channels for safe and responsible disposal.

Community cleanup events like this help:

  • Reduce landfill waste
  • Recover valuable materials
  • Promote sustainable habits
  • Increase environmental awareness
  • Strengthen local communities
