The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and the RA Centre are proud to share the success of their recent Free Secure Electronics Recycling Event in Ottawa, where the community came together to responsibly dispose of unwanted electronics.
Held on October 3, 2026, at the RA Centre in Ottawa, the event provided residents, businesses, and organizations with a convenient opportunity to drop off unwanted and retired electronics for responsible reuse and recycling.
480 lbs of E-Waste Diverted from Landfills
Thanks to the support of the Ottawa community, the event collected an impressive 480 pounds of electronic waste, helping divert these materials from landfills.
From computers and laptops to cell phones and other electronic equipment, every device collected represents another step toward reducing electronic waste and supporting a more sustainable, circular economy.
ERA follows a reuse-first approach. Electronics that can be refurbished are given an opportunity for a second life, while equipment that cannot be reused is responsibly recycled.
Supporting a More Sustainable Ottawa
Community electronics collection events make it easier for individuals and organizations to responsibly manage unwanted technology while helping reduce the environmental impact of e-waste.
ERA would like to thank the RA Centre, everyone who helped organize the event, and all the Ottawa residents and organizations who participated. Your support helped make it possible to divert 480 lbs of e-waste from landfills.
Together, we can keep electronics out of landfills, extend the useful life of technology, and create positive environmental and community impact.
