The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was proud to participate in the Living Earth Council Care & Repair Market, held on October 17, 2026, at the Truro Library in Truro, Nova Scotia.
Organized by the Living Earth Council, the event brought the community together to promote sustainable living, repair, reuse, and waste reduction.
ERA joined the event as a community partner, providing an opportunity for residents to recycle unwanted electronics responsibly while raising awareness about the importance of extending the life of technology.
Bringing Sustainability and Community Together
The Care & Repair Market provided a welcoming space for residents to connect with organizations supporting practical environmental solutions.
The event highlighted how repairing and reusing everyday items can help reduce unnecessary waste and conserve valuable resources.
ERA was pleased to contribute to this community initiative by sharing information about electronics reuse, refurbishment, responsible recycling, and secure data destruction.
Supporting Responsible Electronics Recycling in Nova Scotia
As part of the event, ERA offered residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of unwanted electronic devices and learn more about sustainable technology management.
Through its nationwide programs, ERA works to extend the useful life of electronics by refurbishing reusable equipment and making technology available to charities, schools, and individuals in need.
Equipment that cannot be reused is directed toward responsible recycling, helping reduce electronic waste and recover valuable materials.
ERA also promotes secure data destruction to help individuals and businesses protect sensitive information when retiring their electronics.
Participating in local events such as the Care & Repair Market helps ERA connect these services with communities across Nova Scotia.
Building Stronger Community Partnerships
ERA values the opportunity to work alongside organizations such as the Living Earth Council that are actively promoting environmental responsibility.
The Care & Repair Market reflected a shared commitment to encouraging sustainable habits, reducing waste, and supporting the circular economy.
By bringing together local initiatives and organizations with complementary environmental goals, events like this create valuable opportunities for collaboration and community education.
ERA looks forward to continuing its involvement in community-driven sustainability initiatives throughout Nova Scotia and across Canada.
