The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta is a charitable organization that helps Alberta families fighting childhood cancer. Their programs are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the whole family at each stage in their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
In the past The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and Kids Cancer Care partnered together on an electronic drive we were able to refurbish laptops and provide them with a cheque for the remaining equipment collected from then drive. ERA was happy to donate 5 laptops, 1 desktop computer and a monitor the following year to the Kids Cancer Care Tutoring Program.
Recently, Shell Canada helped us provide 10 laptops to the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta to help those families in need with electronics so that their child can continue their tutoring sessions. The ERA is thankful for the support of our generous donors that allow us to continue providing free computers to charitable organizations and individuals in need.
Kids Cancer Care matches patients and survivors in kindergarten to grade 12 with tutors, who provide home-based one-to-one tutoring. These tutoring sessions help learners work towards specific academic goals, while boosting their confidence and helping them develop general learning skills.
